Sevilla: Plaza de Toros, massive cathedral and immaculate city streets

Cordoba: Mezquita, orange trees and tapas

The Mezquita (the mosque-cathedral) won our hearts at first sight early in the morning during a church service inside the cathedral inside a mosque. As the smell of frankincense and the sound of prayer spilled through the desert-feeling of the original Islamic prayer space, we were awe-struck by the impressive architecture and spirituality of a building dating back to 784 A.D.

Zuheros: Dramatic pueblo blanco and olive trees

Granada: Home of Alhambra and our favorite tapas bar

Ronda: We LOVED Ronda

Established in the 9th century B.C., Ronda claims to be one of the oldest towns in Spain and also claims to be the home of bullfighting. The bridge stretches across an impressive gorge connecting the old city with the new city. Yup, we ate lots of tapas.

Arcos de la Fontera: White-washed village, thrillingly perched on a high ridge

El Rocio: Sandy avenues, hoof-prints and hitching posts

This is not a movie set, although it certianly felt like one. El Rocio is the destination for hundreds of thousands (sometimes a million) of festive pilgrims every Pentacost for the Romeria Del Rocio, Spain's biggest religious pilgrimage.
